I'm Dreaming in Vivid Colors

A little pop of color will do it. Great way you wake you up this morning. A little cup of joe doesn't hurt. It is almost here, so much to do to get ready for the beach trip, can't wait to feel sand between my toes and sun on my back. Oh, and it will be so nice to be able to put on a pair of flip flops, swim suit and nothing else. But not so fast I've got plenty to do between now and then.
I completed my first Blythe journal. It is a little cutie but I no more than put it together, took pics, listed it, posted pics on all of my sights, flickr etc and it sold, wow! Guess I'll quickly make some more.
Today I go to the eye doctor. Long over due I am becoming one of those annoying people that say can you read this for me my arms aren't long enough. Wow am I that old? I will pretend you said no;)
Think beach.... that will get you through any Monday.

Cupcake Month, Yum

Hey everyone did you know that it is cupcake month. Well according to Martha Stewart it is. She is having a contest so make your cupcakes and send in your pics. Did you see mine up above? Fake, they are marshmallow candy do you think I could fool Martha? Okay all this talk about cupcakes has made me hungry I am going for something sweet. Yes I know it's 10:00 pm but I don't care. Check out Martha's cupcakes at the link below. http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.3e37788aa306c4df62fc95103373a0a0/?vgnextoid=d5a9080aae2e8110VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default

Special Guest Host Today

This is Melrose your guest host for today's blog entry and she would like to give you a quick make-up lesson. She thinks she is quite the glamour girl. Alright, Melrose says to first start with a mosturizer, all over your face and then... well it's just easier if you go to this five minute make-up application video on YouTube...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-P5bXdOBRk

There, wasn't that easy. I bet you look great, too. The next thing that Melrose would like to present is the latest dream journal she has been oooing and ahhhing about.

It would get done a lot sooner if she would just keep her hands off of it. It may look a little creepy but it is kinda cool. Of course this is the opinion of a doll with oversized eyes that change color with the pull of a string. Did anyone have a doll like this in the good old 70's? I didn't but even big girls can play with dolls too. hee, hee

The Mermaid Journal For Diva's

Print, gesso, cut, collage, glue, decoupage, varnish, glue, write, photograph, up-load, list, post.
I'm tired!

Finally it's done and I love it. I would love to take it to Florida but I gotta list it on Etsy. I am all out of journals in my shop. Can I get another one done before the trip? Maybe...
I need to make one for my parents anniversary party the week after I return too.

"Time....Time....Time... see what's become of me"
Sorry I just had to be dramatic for just a minute.

I added a few new links to my sight... Take a look
Have you made your message in a bottle yet? It's fun!

Save the Planet

One thing on my wish list of a must do before I die kinda thing is to join an expedition with an organization like Earthwatch. http://www.earthwatch.org/exped/sullivan.html
This link goes to an expedition in the Bahamas.
I would love to help save the planet and learn something in the mean time. I have always been a crusader for nature but I really don't set a very good example. I don't recycle very often and I am a wasteful consumer, but maybe I could do my part by contributing in another way. There are many expeditions out there to many different countries and I am sure that you would meet the most interesting people. Can you imagine spending the day along the beach counting sea turtle eggs or hiding out at night until they hatch and helping them find their way to the sea safely. Then documenting all your data and go back to your little beach huts for a clam bake, guitar music and chat. Well this how I romanticize it. I do wonder though with how pricey these trips are, does the money really go to the cause? What do you think?

Family Day Complete

Well, it was another wonderful Easter. Most of the family was together and we had a lovely dinner. The majority of the food was provided by Mom which was okay by me. I would much rather provide the house and decorating and leave the cooking to Mom. I think my quests usually prefer that too. Not that I can't cook, I can, I just like to cook more unusual dishes. You know the kind that no one likes but me. I recieved a beautiful easter e-card thanks Jeannene.

I am very happy my blog new blog header, made by my sis, is up. It took some figuring out to do it. Duh! Thanks cookie for the help. The edit for my header was at the top of the page and I kept going to the edit header toward the bottom of the window. Well it's done. whew!

I am so pleased about the way my new journal is coming out. I only have the cover done. I left a sneak peek here.

It is time for the end to a great weekend but one more thing before I go; I did something very impulsive this weekend but I'm not going to let you in on it just yet. Don't tell, Gina.

Easter Wishes

Happy good Friday to you all. My Easter wish for all of you is that you find the day to be as magical and spiritual as it was when you were young and you would wake up in the morning to hard boiled eggs, chocolate bunnies and hidden Easter baskets. Then dress in your Sunday best complete with Easter bonnet and go to church. After church came Easter egg hunts and boiled dinner. Then it was time weather permitting to go out in your new spring jacket and fly your new kite. After the perfect afternoon of sunshine you were free to dive into your giant chocolate rabbitt. First you nibble the ear then you get brave and eat those candy eyes and before you know it there goes the head. Well maybe not every Easter was quite this perfect but I do remember at least one that followed this scenario pretty closely.

I also remember one Easter morning waking up to my mothers hysteria because someone had gotten up during the night and Eaten most of the coconut bunny cake, that took her many hours to make. There was a little trail of coconut from the kitchen to the living room. This was almost as bad as the year the cat ate the Thanksgiving Day turkey. Well after many interrogations it came out that it wasn't the beloved children that ate the cake but a guest spending the weekend. Whoops, was it the coconut in her teeth that gave it away?

Well, I really just wanted to wish you all a very Happy Easter and oh I almost forgot I wanted to share with you Ms. Martha's tip for little Easter cup table favors. Click on the link below for more info.

http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.0e0eb51a2e6b5ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=3f8476ecfd22f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&rsc=wks_EW_WK4_Proj2

Wow, leave it to Martha to have an extra complicated link to her site. I do love everything that she does but sometimes it is just a little too perfect and makes me feel pretty inept. If you have a special or a funny Easter story to share leave it here at this post.

Now bring on the chocolate bunnies!

A Little Surprise

As I was running around this morning trying to get ready for my day I noticed something among my studio mess. It was a few pink things stuck in a nest with a sweet little pink bird perched in the middle. It wasn't finished yet, it looked like someone had started putting a little assemblage together. I thought how sweet that's what my daughter was doing in my bedroom for long yesterday. She even made a little crown for Jewel (that's what I named her) the bird. That was so sweet for her to start it for me and leave it as a surprise for me to find. Well you know I quickly hurried around and finished it. After it was put all together a added a little note to her Ribbon. It says "Love Comes In Small Packages" I thought that this was fitting since I viewed this as a little loving gesture on her part. Thanks Dani girl.
You can find Jewel and her nest for sale in my Etsy shop. http://www.studiopink.etsy.com/
I am not sure I want to part with her but then I will just be passing on the love.
"Love Comes In Small Packages" Pass it on!

Queen for a Day

Really I think I'ld rather be a princess. Their are far less responsibilities and queen just sounds old. I think everyone these days has a facination with royalty and most women kinda fantasize about being a little like Marie Anntoinette, except for the be-heading part. Aside from all of her lavish things, it sounds to me like she lived a rather tragic life. The Lucidcafe' has a good refresher on Marie Antoinette's life. http://www.lucidcafe.com/library/95nov/antoinette.html
Well I finished the swarovski crystal crown and got it listed on Etsy. http://www.studiopink.etsy.com/
I couldn't get very good pics though, no model. the little cherub above is sweet but not quite right for a model. Oh well, another day.

Thanks Cookie Sunshine

I am so excited my blog and Etsy store were featured on "The Cookie Sheet" blog site today. To check it out go to http://cookiesunshine.typepad.com/the_cookie_sheet/ She is such a great lady and features different blogs quite often. What a fun place to learn about other people and what they are up to. She also has a weekly treasure hunt. The picture of Baby Girl is so big and beautiful on her site.
The new journal is done. I love it! I also played around with a new tiara tonight. No starfish and no tulle just swarovski crystals. I still have a couple of adjustments to make I will get pics up tomorrow.
Isn't tomorrow the first day of spring? Yeehaa! I know not so fast this is michigan.
Has anyone ever tried Gyrotonics? Check it out at http://www.gyrotonic.com/Default.asp
I saw it on the Rachel Ray show a while back and I would love to try it. It looks awesome kinda like sincronized swimming. If anyone has tried it please comment and let me know what you think.

Have a great snug night on this last night of winter for this year anyway.

Goodnight ;)

Mermaid Dreams

March keeps marching on and it is almost time for the beach. My flip flops are ready and waiting. I can't wait to feel the sun on my body and the warm breeze across my face. I love the sounds of the tide lapping at my feet. My most favorite part of the whole trip other than the warm sun is the sea treasures I find while walking the beach. I think I will journal about my trip and reflect on the past few wonderful months of my life. I am working on a new journal pictured above. It is a special order for a special customer. I need to put one together for myself. "Mermaid Dreams" sounds like a good title. I just hope that I can let go and relax. I'm a worrier and will be thinking about the kids, the dogs and babygirl left behind.

This starfish tiara was a special order for a girl lucky enough to be getting married on the beach in June. I hope she loves the crown. I am sure she will look beautiful in it. Kellibeth, I hope you have an unforgettable day and beautiful weather.

Well, it is time to go back to laundry and dishes and my mermaid day dreams. Don't forget to visit me at http://www.studiopink.etsy.com/

Surprize in the Mail

My OWOH package came today, how exciting. Thank you Monique.
I just love the little fairy princess card she is so cute! I saw her on one of your posts and hoped I would get something like her. The package of goodies were great too. There is a piece of trim in there that I can use for my next project. Finding treasures in the mail is a great way to start the weekend.

She is just perfect for me. I will display her on my inspiration board.

It's Your Birthday

When little baby girl was born I made her a special birthday cake box. This box is to use as a center piece every birthday and it can hold birthday cards and momentos from year to year. I loved it so much that I made one to go in my Etsy shop. Happy Birthday to the birthday girls out there.

Chicks on Parade

It is getting close to that time. What time?, "you ask". Spring weather, birds singing, flowers blooming, Easter egg hunts, and baby chicks hatching. In honor of that beautiful time of year I have some fabulous little chickies to parade in front of you. Smile and think warm thoughts.
